This region was special as the show decided to hold a Military Appreciation region where all the competitors were either currently serving or were prior service. I fit the bill for this region so back out west to compete in San Pedro California. The course was built right in front of a battleship which was one of the cooler set locations we have filmed at. The tricky obstacle in the qualifying course was the Spinning Logs where I almost fell after getting a bad take off on the first log. Luckily I was able to salvage it and moved on!
City finals course had a few really taxing obstacles back to back towards the end of the course. I tried muscling my way through the majority of them but by the end of the course I was pumped out pretty bad. The Invisible Ladder was the new final obstacle and I barely made it a quarter of the way up! More pull ups were needed prior to this season haha.
This course looked similar to season 6 with a few obstacles changed out. I had another close call on the Silk Slider dismount and tangled up a bit on the Sonic Curve which took the place of the Half Pipe Attack. The traditional Tarzan Swing to Cargo Net was replaced with a set of Jumping Bars. Got through with time to spare!
Back on Stage 2 for the second season in a row I felt a little more confident but this was also the season that I began to notice shoulder pain in my right shoulder that would eventually lead me to get surgery. I made it to the top of the second salmon ladder and had one more rung to go. I shorted it just a bit and that was enough to cause me to pop out of the track and fall all the way from the top!
